2010 Asian Festival Of Speed week
What can I say... it has been a pretty busy week for me, as for the first time in my entire life I'm actually getting involved in a motor sporting event! A few years ago I never even once thought I would work with a race crew before, and yet here I am sitting here talking about my experience lol...
Well, to be honest I wasn't really involved in preparing all the cars for the race (I had another kind of job to do for the team unfortunately) but I did help out a bit when they needed me. Wow... I'm just really tired to write about everything in this post, but I just wanted to say that the experience being on the race track is just immense. If there is one advice I could give, is that a motorsport life is not easy! The fact that the cars have to be prepare, test, repair, adjustments, and all those other things all within a few hours is just crazy. Not to say that its impossible to do those kind of things, but something to remind me that I really really have a lot to learn before I could be one of them.
The race itself was pretty good, as the team I am with managed to get 1st and 2nd place in the Asian Touring Car Series (albeit, it was 2 different drivers in 2 different races) and 3rd place in the Asia GT4 championship. Not bad considering for a small team with most of my instructors (yes, you read that right) from TOC being the race mechanics for the team lol. Anyway, that is all for now as I am really really need to get some rest after these past week haha. I might write a full story on the event someday, but until then just look around if you can find any interesting articles on the AFOS event.

TOC, Aston & my (sad) life...
Okay, so if anyone read any of my tweets on Twitter, Facebook, or Myspace then you might be wondering what I was going on about then right? Well, if my recent tweet is anything to go by, then you would have probably clicked on the link and wondered... TOC OTTO Camp?
Well if you were wondering, its nothing much really. Its just some sort of introduction to the automotive world and the college for those who are interested. (anyone can go and visit I think) But what is different from all the other previous OTTO camp was that this time the workshop that I'm working with is involved. Just yesterday night they sent the Aston Martin V8 Vantage GT4 to my college for a demonstration, and well, today they (as in my boss and sifu) even had a
conference (or talk, not sure what is it that you call it) with everyone in TOC, and said that I was the first person in TOC to actually be working with them. My sifu also told me today that I'm currently working at one of the most expensive workshop that any TOC students had ever worked with!
Damn, I'm not sure what to say though. Maybe I'm lucky or maybe I'm unfortunate but I'm just... speechless! I mean, I'm probably the only student in TOC (well, as far as I know at least) who is working with a racing team (S&D Motorsports is what my workshop is associated with) and get to work on high end sports cars on my first on-job training. Who else has gotten the opportunity to do this? LOL, but anyway even as good as it sounds I just with I had a normal workshop like everyone else. I don't know, not saying that I don't appreciate working with this workshop (I really do) but I just don't get it. Why me? Why not anyone else? Its not like I have a good past experience (I never worked before in my life prior to this) nor do I have good results to show for it. Seriously, I feel like my classmates deserve to get this place more than I do. All I can do is just f*** things up! *sigh*
TOC, the workshop, my family, my friends, and probably just about anyone I knew has high expectations for me. Why oh f**king why does it HAVE TO BE ME!!? What the f*** did I do to deserve this? As with anything in life I guess, all I can say is whatever and just move on. I don't care. If I let anyone down its not my problem, you people are just expecting too much from a person like me. I cannot deliver any results nor am I gonna make anyone proud, all I can say is just accept it as it is. I would rather die than having to put up with all this pressure...
Anyhow, sorry for posting that crap. I just want to clear some things up with you people. I know that I might be repeating some stuff here (as usual) but bear with me, I'm just trying to let my feelings and thoughts go on this post just to make myself feel a "little" better. But if anyone is interested, please do go to the OTTO camp. I might be involved, I might not but at least you can get to enjoy being there and learn something!

Motivation
Just when I thought my life would get any worse, I've just seen the light at the end of the tunnel. Been thinking lately about whether becoming a mechanic was a good idea and that going to college was a mistake and that I should have become a NEET or something cause somehow I just don't feel right about working. Kept doing the wrong things, making mistakes, breaking stuff, etc. I though I would just give up and do something else...
But after today, my mind has kinda changed slightly. Of course I still do feel a bit sad (I'm emokid, what do you expect?) after all the troubles that I caused in the 4 weeks that I've been working at the workshop so far, and after doing something terrible the day before (not work related) I just wish that I could stop doing everything and just lock myself up in my room and think about all the things that I've done. So what happened today that got me motivated you say? Something car/work related of course... *cough*
After working on the Nissan Skyline GT-R R32 for so many weeks the car finally got running after everything was done. Then today after some tweaks and stuff the car was able to drive on the road again. Couldn't believe how amazing it is that the car was from being abandoned by the previous workshop owner, to being completed with the people that I'm working with now. But most of all, not only to get the car in a working and running condition was an accomplishment, but to get to ride shotgun in a shakedown was just something else. I guess you can say it was "the fruit of our labor" (even though I didn't really do much lol).
Another surprise was that I get to ride in the Nissan Silvia S15 as well! But I got to say, after being inside both of these cars and being driven at the scruff of the neck my perspective of tuning and cars in general has changed. Boy oh boy what a feeling it was to feel the surge of power coming from each of these car... definitely a lot more exhilarating than my crappy i10! But of course, it didn't happen if I didn't work for 14 hours either... (went to work at 9am, came back home at 11pm)
But really, I do hope this will give me some motivation on doing my training, and work and study hard to achieve my far-fetched goal...

My first SIT venue: Power Qube Industries Sdn. Bhd.
I'm not gonna write a lot about my first week on my SIT (Supervised Industrial Training) as a technician/mechanic, but thought I could share some photos I took on my camera phone. Yeah, the pictures might be a bit blur, small and whatnot but my phone camera is only 1.3 megapixel. Hopefully I can get a new phone soon lol...
Anyway, the workshop is quite a cool place to work. The people there are very nice and helpful, and I hope I can learn a lot from them. Spent the first 2 days clearing and cleaning the workshop, moving car parts, furniture and whatnot to make the working environment a bit more comfortable. After those 2 days I finally got to work on some of the cars there, even though I didn't get to work on all the cars as much but nevertheless its quite fun to work even though my body starts to ache a lot nowadays ever since I started work lol. Okay, enough about me though and lets take a look at some of the cars inside the workshop:

Well I do wish I could write some more about the workshop and stuff, but I just feel too tired to explain everything. Oh well, I'll try to post some more when I have a better camera/camera phone (yeah right) and have some more free time to post something. Who knows, maybe there will be more better cars coming into the workshop in the future. (*cough*Aston Martin GT4*cough*) Its only been a week, and there is 19 weeks left to go hahahaha...

College, and some random bs...
After being on holiday for about over a month, today was the day that I finally went back to college this afternoon. Sadly our class got changed to the afternoon session for some reason... There weren't many things changed when I was there (or that I was absolutely blind haha) but the biggest change for was really, to be in a new class with some similar faces as well as people from the other session joining the class.
Well as I did mentioned in my earlier post, my class got changed after some altercations with the course and now my class is fully dedicated to Motorsports. So far today I've only learned a few aspects of the motorsports industry, and some briefing of what we are gonna learn for these 3 weeks (which is about the engine management system. So our instructor for this lesson was.... well I guess I can say that he is good. He knows a lot about car tuning and motorsports in general, and tries his best to teach us all that we need to know and more! Just hope that I can keep up with the class and do what he told us to do, because even as a helpful as he is, he sure is a bit strict on some things...
Anyhow, I still have no idea what else to expect from TOC this coming few weeks so I'll just have to do my best until then. Apart from this I didn't really do much for these past week weeks. Playing Midnight Club: Los Angeles Complete Edition, chatting with friends a lot online and just been doing nothing much online lol. I did want to write several posts on this blog about several topics but I'll just never know if I ever do get to post it since well, it being pointless hahaha....

My Toolbox
I got my toolbox kit last week at college, but just didn't have the time to post it up until now. I know it is nothing much or anything but yeah, whatever then. Enjoy the pics and be grateful that you didn't have to spend a lot much money on this and bring it in college everyday....
So how much does it cost in the end? Well according to the pamphlet that I got, the normal price would be around RM1750 but as a TOC student we got the discount for RM1200. Yeah, still quite expensive but then again there are several other courses which could be more expensive, such as photography, or ICT and such.

My Benchwork
Well this is what I've been working on over the past 2 weeks at TOC:
Not exactly as good as what my other classmates have done, but I guess it is the effort that counts. I did just enough to get this done, don't think I could make any more effort on making it look better. Maybe I could, but you know me.....
Haha, that aside I'm just glad that I finally got a one week break from college starting from today. Now I could probably enjoy myself a little more and take a breather. Tomorrow I will be going to Penang again with my parents, so I'll probably won't be going online or do my usual activities as such. Who knows really, if I'm lucky the hotel that I'm staying has a computer room I could go online for a while and just surf around and probably go online on MSN or something. Not sure what I will be doing there, maybe like the usual like shopping, eating and go around town like that. Don't know what events are being held over at Penang right now (heard there are several things being held over there this weekend on the radio) but if there is really nothing there...... oh why the hell would I care anyways?

Been busy these past few days....
Well ever since my college started last Monday I really haven't have the time to enjoy sitting down in front of the computer and do whatever that I liked to do like last time. Always been busy with homework and assignments and stuff these days...
Not to say I'm REALLY that busy its just that I don't really have the time to loaf around like before. I only have a few hours to sit in front of my computer to read some news and play some games on Facebook and Myspace. As for college, everything seems fine and so far so good I guess. The lecturers are okay and some of my classmates are really friendly and enjoyable to talk and hang out with and also share the same interest with me. (which involves with cars by the way) As far as learning goes I've just started to learn the basics of Automotive which involves the 5S's (don't ask) and also about learning the tools. Also today I've learned about how to use a jack, jackstand and the car lift!
Thats about it from me I guess, not sure when I will get to write about that Orientation Day thought. Hopefully someday.... (or never)

I've lost my voice....
Its true, I really lost my voice today. With all the activities being done today at TOC near the end of the day I really had such a bad sore throat I can't even talk with a normal voice! My throat hurts so bad right now and really need to see the doctor in a few moments, just hope I would recover by the end of the weekend or something. Also the fact that I only had 4 hours of sleep prior to this and have been awake for 16+ hours without sleep is a little troubling. Hehe, whatever happens happens and really it is out of my hands. Anyway, today a lot of good things did happen besides this and I am glad that tomorrow I could really get some rest. Like I said earlier, will write my experiences on both days of the TOC Orientation day during the weekend so just keep your hopes up and pray that I will write an interesting story lol.
It is a GREEEAAAAATDay!
Well yeah, whatever. Just wanted to say that because that is one of the words I learned to use today at college lol. The orientation at TOC today was just nothing short of awesome, think it feels even better than any of my "first day of school" feeling when I was in primary and secondary school! Did a lot of activities today and made some new friends as well, but most importantly is that finally my college life begins. Sad thing though, because now I feel like I have not enough time to enjoy myself playing Facebook and Mysapce games on my computer anymore, and reading news sites is going to be a P.I.T.A. Meh, guess I need to reschedule my daily routine so that I could spend more time studying and less wasting time on useless things like eating, sleeping and other stuff.
Really have no time to tell how todays event really goes, cause I need to sleep for a while and wake up to watch the UEFA Champions League quarter final match between Porto and Manchester United. =P Will try to explain the day tomorrow or during the weekends when I have more time....

Yeah, this probably means I can't enjoy my holidays anymore. No more staying up late, no more loafing around at home or excessively use the computer for 12+ hours everyday, no more going out with friends (well could still do all that stuff, but not as often) and worse of all, I have to start studying again, aaaaarrrrggggghhhh!!!!!!! Well never mind, I guess with all the negatives being mentioned there should always be the brighter side of things. Like most of all I will be starting a new life as an adult (really?) and probably get to make new friends and get to know more people at my college and practically learn more things than I do at school. Hopefully everything goes well tomorrow and will be looking forward to meeting everyone there....
My College Life Begins...
Just registered at TOC today, and will be going there at 15th of April for some briefing before the actual classes begins. They will be going through what classes we are going to have as well as giving us clothes that we have to wear over there. Already did the payment for the first semester today, but now need to find loan for the other semesters. (hopefully I will get the load) With that said, it is sad to say that my holidays are over. No more staying home going online 12+ hours everyday and stay up late at night or do I have a lot of free time to hang out with my friends. How things in live move so fast, and Formula One is about to start in just a few days!!!!

Well just wanted to say that I probably will be continuing my studies at TOC after all. Just went to TOC today and had a tour of the place, and got to say I was really impressed with the facilities. Learned a thing or two today about the basics that I would be learning there as well as being introduced to the people over there at TOC. They provided their hospitality and made us feel really comfortable there, and the foremen (or lecturers, not sure what to say about this) and the senior students there were really nice and helpful. Don't know what else to say about the place but I hope everything goes well when I start my semester this April....
